CBS Renews Beyond The Gates For Another Season!Beyond the Gates spoilers suggest more drama on the horizon in the land of Fairmont Crest. While the community is still reeling from the big bombshell Leslie Thomas (Trisha Mann-Grant) dropped, fans are excited to learn that there is more chaos heading their way.
That’s because CBS just announced they have renewed the soap opera for another season. More details below.
BTG Fans Have Something To Celebrate
This is pretty big news considering the daytime drama has only been on the air for about three months, debuting this past Monday, February 24.
Along with the announcement, CBS shared that the new soap was up 48% in broadcast viewership when compared to the numbers from the same time last year when The Talk was airing in that timeslot.
Unfortunately, that show was cancelled, which made way for BTG to slip right in – and now the soap is getting comfortable!
Beyond the Gates averages 1.82 million fans, which is less than the viewership its sister CBS soaps garner. The Young and the Restless is at 3.29 million with The Bold and the Beautiful at 2.79 million. With that said, 1.82 mill is not too shabby considering it is a brand-new show.
It Keeps Getting Better & Better
Beyond the Gates is used to making history, being the first daytime drama to hit the airwaves since 1999, and the first-ever 60-minute Black-centered soap opera.
But on top of that, it’s also celebrated the fact that the land of soaps is far from dead, giving the genre an overall boost. After all, fans are used to seeing daytime dramas being cancelled – not debuting!
Plus, the show keeps getting better and better as time wears on. From the drama, scene-stealing Dani Dupree, played by the delightful Karla Mosley, to the vile Leslie and her daughter from the wrong side of the tracks, Eva Thomas (Ambyr Michell), the storylines continue to intrigue and have had fans glued to their television sets.
