No. 6 Warwick football team again shuts out Bethel

Led by quarterback Saeed Williams, No. 6 Warwick shut out Peninsula District rival Bethel for the third consecutive time, winning 47-0 Thursday night at Darling Stadium for the Raiders’ second straight shutout to start the year.
Warwick (2-0) went ahead 20-0 by halftime and initiated the running clock with three third-quarter touchdowns.
The Raiders completed the game by stopping the Bruins (0-2) on first-and-goal from the 2.

Hickory 54, Manor 6: The Hawks came through with an encouraging season opener, dominating the Mustangs (0-2) for one of their most lopsided victories in recent years.
Essex 48, Jamestown 6: The Trojans scored five first-quarter touchdowns in Tappahannock and improved to 2-0. The Eagles fell to 0-2.
Woodside 21, Grassfield 6: The Wolverines (1-1) their first victory of Alonzo Coley’s coaching era, handling the Grizzlies (0-2) at Todd Stadium.
King & Queen Central 20, Windsor 12: The Royal Tigers’ DJ Berry tied the game by returning an interception 84 yards in the second quarter.
Central’s Mekhi Dabney ran for 146 yards and two touchdowns, both in the second half, on 16 carries. He completed 3 of 6 passes for 78 yards. Teammate Randy Holmes had six tackles for loss and blocked a Windsor PAT try.
Hudson Williams scored both of the Dukes’ touchdowns, catching a 17-yard Jeremy King pass in the first quarter and running 5 yards in the fourth.
