Travis Kelce Turns 35 Today—Here’s the Dessert He Wants to ‘Stuff His Face’ With

We know the feeling all too well.

It’s a big week for Travis Kelce. His character was introduced in FX’s Ryan Murphy-led show, “Grotesquerie,” he’s prepping for a Monday Night Football game against the New Orleans Saints that his brother, Jason, will be in town for, and his birthday is Oct. 5. As all Swifties know, Kelce was born in 1989—the same year as his girlfriend, Taylor Swift—so he’ll be celebrating his 35th birthday this weekend. Because his football game will take place at home in Kansas City and isn’t until Monday night, that might just mean Kelce can have a little fun on his actual birthday with his friends and family in town. Kelce seems like a birthday guy when it comes to his loved ones’ big days—his Kansas City Chiefs teammate, Patrick Mahomes, recently revealed Kelce gave him a Louis Vuitton golf bag for his 29th birthday. So, we’d like to assume that his teammates, family, and friends will go all out for him, too. However, it doesn’t sound like Kelce’s birthday party will consist of the same extravagant Milk Bar cake that Swift orders for her birthday. The Dessert Travis Kelce Could Eat 10 OfOn a recent episode of the Kelce brothers’ podcast, “New Heights,” in addition to the traditional ad read for their partnership with Buffalo Wild Wings, former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason had B-Dubs delivered. After eating his wings and bacon burger, he washed it down with dessert: doughnuts from Neil’s Donuts in Connecticut. As Jason dug into the doughnut, Travis jealously sighed, “Aw man, good thing they’re over there.”

Jason told Travis that Neil’s Donuts might give Kansas City favorite, LaMar’s Donuts, a “run for their money.” LaMar’s is a doughnut shop that’s been around since 1933, and once it was mentioned, Travis immediately shared his love for the doughnuts, which are sold in an iconic yellow box.“I love a good yellow box,” he said. “Yellow boxes are dangerous. I’m at that point in the season where I’m like, 'Let me just push it away.'" At week five in the season—and with Travis having a slow start in the first four games—it makes sense that the tight end is trying to skirt temptations.“It’s a sad day in your NFL career when you realize you’ve hit that age where you can’t just eat whatever you want anymore,” Jason said.Travis just entered his 12th season in the NFL, so maybe he’s had the same realization. “I see that golden glazed doughnut just sitting in the yellow box. I’m just like, mhm, I don’t need that today. I’ll get it tomorrow, knowing that they don’t have boxes of doughnuts in the building every day. [I] just lie to myself so that I don’t just grab 10 doughnuts and run around the corner and just stuff my face,” he said. Kelce hasn’t been one to cut calories in the past. Between his pregame French toast and love for Uncrustables—plus, his new General Mills partnership alongside Jason for their Kelce Mix cereal, which combines Reese’s Puffs, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Lucky Charms—we don’t think one (or even 10) doughnuts would hurt. It’s your birthday, Travis, so we say enjoy the golden, glazed beauty on Saturday and just shake it off before the game on Monday.  Read the original article on All Recipes.
