Three & Out: Michael Terry planning another visit to Nebraska, 2026 names to know from the radius, other 2026 names in radius who could get offers

Three & Out is Nebraska On3’s feature in which recruiting analyst Bryan Munson gives his weekly takes on topical issues concerning Nebraska football and recruiting.
In this week’s Three & Out, the No. 1 athlete in the country, Michael Terry III, is planning a third visit to Nebraska, Nebraska is in on several 2026 recruits from the 500-mile radius, and there are other recruits from the radius who might end up getting an offer from the Huskers. Here is your Three & Out:
Michael Terry is working on a gameday visit
Recruiting news has been a little slow since the Isaiah Mozee flip on Friday. That was huge news for Nebraska. You could see it coming a bit; at least, I was trying to communicate that, but beyond Mozee, there hasn’t been anything to really look forward to.
Yes, I know that David Sanders Jr. is making his decision public on Monday. That is big news, but I will follow suit in the coming days to make my prediction that he will end up on Rocky Top. I wanted to think that Nebraska had a chance all the way until the end, but things definitely appear to be pointing in Tennessee’s direction.
Nebraska also missed out on Gilbert (Iowa) linebacker Will Hawthorne. The Huskers worked diligently to get into the picture with Hawthorne, who committed to a school 10 miles away from his hometown. Hawthorne seemed to be headed to Ames from the start, but the Huskers gave him something else to think about for a couple of months.
The latest news I am watching was the development I shared on the message board on Monday evening: Michael Terry III is working with Nebraska on coming to Lincoln for a gameday visit.
Now you’re talking.
One of the reasons that I think makes it difficult for Sanders to choose Nebraska is that he has never seen Lincoln on a game day. The August commitment date, before the start of his season, really made it impossible.
Getting a player to Lincoln for a game opens things up with a recruit. It’s different. You can’t simulate what Memorial Stadium and Lincoln can do on a gameday weekend. This is precisely what Nebraska needed to really give that last push with Terry about what he could mean to the offense for the Huskers. Let him ponder that in front of Husker Nation on a Saturday this fall.
Terry isn’t sure what weekend it will be, but because he doesn’t have any byes before November, the 9/20 date makes a lot of sense. Alamo Heights plays on 9/19. Terry could travel during the day on Friday, check out the game on Friday night, and even come back to the facilities on Saturday to see what the team does following a game.
The door between Nebraska and Terry is very open. Getting him back on campus is the next thing the Huskers need to make a serious last push for his commitment.

Players in the radius for 2026
Bill Callahan and his staff pushed the 500-mile radius. It was a recognition of Nebraska’s lack of population and area. The Husker staff wanted to extend the state border to include a radius of 500 miles around Lincoln.
The radius includes: Oklahoma City, Kansas City, Tulsa, Minneapolis, Wichita, Saint Louis, Des Moines, Little Rock, Sioux Falls, Chicago, and Denver.
From Lincoln proper, the radius is just short of touching Dallas and Memphis. Typically, those are two markets that get added for recruiting purposes. Here is a list of 2026 recruits that Nebraska fans need to know for the upcoming year.

Other names in the radius who could get offers
Nebraska has some key positions in 2026 that need to be addressed. The top of that list is offensive tackle. Several within a 500-mile radius of Nebraska don’t have an offer from the Huskers, so it will be interesting to see if Nebraska tries to get any to campus early in the season for a gameday visit.
Offensive Tackle
The tackle position is/was important in the 2025 class and it remains important in the 2026 class. Ideally, Nebraska needs to get an offensive tackle that is ready to play and one or two more who have a lot of potential. All of these tackles have visited Nebraska before with the exception of Goodwin. Wilmes and Fuchs are teammates which is the same high school as current Husker Turner Corcoran.
Interior Offensive Line
Taylor and Von Seggern have visited Nebraska before. A player like Nichols could play inside or outside, while the other three are a little more true IOL recruits. Nebraska seems to be in a very good situation with Hudson Parliament, and if they decide to take another IOL, Von Seggern could be who they turn to.
Defensive Line
Both Beale and McHaney are interior defensive linemen. The Huskers could use some bigger bodies on their defensive line board. They will need to keep adding some more bodies in that room even after a very strong group in the 2025 recruiting class. McHaney isn’t technically a radius recruit, but he is originally from Indiana.
Linebacker
It’s a bit of a mystery how Nebraska hasn’t offered either Pyatt or Thomas. In fact, around the time of the elite junior day to see if he was visiting or was communicating with Nebraska. He told me that he hadn’t heard from Nebraska yet. Earlier this week, he said that Nebraska just reached out and he’s working on coming to a gameday visit.
Athlete
McClellan is another St. Louis product that you could see Nebraska showing more interest in and offering. McClellan is the younger brother of current Oregon Duck wide receiver Jeremiah McClellan.
