Newsstand: Notre Dame 2026 WR commit Dylan Faison named five-star lacrosse recruit

Notre Dame has one heck of an athlete joining its football and lacrosse programs in less than two years.
Boca Raton (Fla.) Saint Andrew’s School class of 2026 student-athlete Dylan Faison announced his commitment to play wide receiver for the Irish football team and midfield for the ND lacrosse program March 18.
This is similar to his older brother, Jordan, who came to the Irish in the 2024 class for both sports and was originally a walk on.
Inside Lacrosse, a leading lacrosse outlet in America, announced Dylan Faison as its first five-star recruit on Sunday.
Like his older brother, Dylan is an outstanding two-sport athlete. On the gridiron, he caught 18 passes for 480 yards (26.7 yards per catch) and 8 touchdowns in 2023, according to MaxPreps. He is also a dynamic punt returner who racked up 61 yards on three plays. In four charted defensive games, he had 20 tackles and an interception.
USA Lacrosse Magazine named Dylan an All-American as a freshman. Jordan was also an All-American last spring. Dylan attended Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Pine Crest, the school that produced Jordan, before transferring to Saint Andrew’s School for his sophomore year.

The Notre Dame media guide has game-by-game starters for every season dating back to 1982. The Irish have had at least one senior start along the offensive line in all 42 season-openers since then. That streak is slated to snap in front of 100k+ Saturday night at Texas A&M. pic.twitter.com/Sk4fdW03ik— Tyler Horka (@tbhorka) August 26, 2024

Quote of the day
“I think you make decisions in the moment based off previous experiences and then that’s the beautiful part of practice. Like, there’s competition and I tell those guys every day, ‘You should be trying to take somebody’s job.’ And every day, if you’re a starter, you should know guys behind you are trying to take your job.
“We’ve had 10 practices since then that basically got us to this conclusion that Anthonie Knapp will be our starting left tackle. But he’s worked tirelessly. He’s done a really good job of building trust with his coaching staff, and that’s why we made that decision.”
— Fighting Irish head coach Marcus Freeman on naming Anthonie Knapp the team’s starting left tackle
