The Golden Bachelor star, who just turned 73 this week, has Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia, a slow-growing bone marrow cancer that affects blood cells. He was diagnosed in early 2024 amid his new romance with now ex-wife Theresa Nist. He went public with the diagnosis a few months ago.

The Golden Bachelor couple divorced in April 2024, just three months after their televised wedding. However, they’ve both said the cancer diagnosis had nothing to do with the split.
But Gerry Turner has been doing a lot of traveling after finding out he has cancer. Traveling was something he wanted to do with Theresa, but she couldn’t because of her job that kept her close to New Jersey.
