American Idol contestant Breanna Nix continues to make it to the next level. On Monday night, she sang her way into the top 14 on the hit reality competition. Fans love her, but she is honestly surprised to be where she’s at now. She never thought her journey would go anywhere. Why did she feel this way? Keep reading to see what she has to say.
American Idol Contestant Breanna Nix Shocked She’s Come So Far
American Idol contestant Breanna Nix has quickly become a fan favorite on Season 23 of the show. She secured a spot in the top 14 and continues to deliver powerful performances to fans and judges.
However, Breanna is shocked she has made it this far. She spoke with People following Monday night’s show and revealed that she didn’t think her journey would go anywhere. Nix said, “When I tried out for American Idol, I didn’t really think that it would go anywhere. It was kind of just a joke when I submitted a video and here we are.”
She went on to say that she has grown so much as a person. Nix even said American Idol is the best thing that has ever happened to her.

Breanna has met some great people along the way and is thankful to have their love and support. She’s beginning to understand what she’s capable of. She never believed she was good enough to sing in front of people. Nix admits that it has always been an insecurity of hers.
Breanna also stated that she’s beginning to believe in herself more. She said, “I think I’m starting to believe in myself, which is really weird because for my whole life I didn’t think I was worth anything. But I really like it.”
She’s Already Faced Rumors During Her Time Competing
American Idol top 14 competitor Breanna Nix caught Carrie Underwood’s attention during her audition when she said she’s just a stay-at-home mom. Underwood told her it’s a major job and the most important one. However, now she’s also proving that she has what it takes to have a successful music career as well.
Breanna is doing great and fans love her. However, she was the subject of rumors flying around the internet. Someone started saying she had left the competition. When Nix got word of it, she went to social media to clear the air and reveal the truth.

She said she did not leave the show and she still needs everyone to vote. Nix further told fans that if something happens in her life, she will share it personally on her social media. She also noted that she had not signed a record deal, which was also part of the rumor.
Now, Breanna, along with 13 other hopeful contestants, will continue to move forward to see which one of them will be crowned America’s next American Idol.
