Kanye West's Shocking New Track: Daughter and Diddy Feature Sparks BacklashOn March 5, Kanye West surprised fans by dropping a new song titled, ‘Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine,’ on X.
With all that Kanye West has done so far to show us just how controversial and divisive an individual he can be, it seems rather surprising that he keeps finding new ways to shock us.
Kanye West Seemingly Features Phone Conversation With P Diddy In New Song
On March 15, the ‘Donda’ rapper, who now prefers to be known mononymously as Ye, surprise dropped a rather questionable track named, ‘Lonely Roads Still Go To Sunshine.” Cute and poignant name, heh? Can I just save you some distress by telling you that it reads like a fear factor script?
“LONELY ROADS STILL GO TO SUNSHINE new song by PUFF DADDY feat. His son KING COMBS my daughter NORTH WEST and new Yeezy artist from Chicago Jasmine Williams,” West captioned his announcement post.
In the beginning of the song, we hear what appears to be a phone call West exchanged with Diddy whilst the latter was already in prison.
“I just want to thank you so much for just taking care of my kids, man,” a voice that seems to be Diddy says. “Ain’t nobody reach out to them, ain’t nobody call them.” Ye replies, “Absolutely, I love you so much, man. You raised me. Even when I ain’t know you, know what I’m saying?”
Somewhere along the track, we hear the rapper’s pre-teen daughter North rap, “Doing everything I wanted, that’s the key to life/ When you see me shining, then you see the light.”
Kim Kardashian Trademarked North’s Name To Keep Kanye West From Exploiting Her Image
Prior to the release of the song, West had shared texts he seemingly exchanged with ex Kim Kardashian, where the reality queen discussed how she trademarked her daughter’s name to prevent anyone else from exploiting it.
“I asked you at the time if I can trademark her name. You said yes. When she’s 18, it goes to her. So stop,” Kardashian reportedly wrote. “I sent paperwork over so she wouldn’t be in the Diddy song to protect her. One person has to trademark!” The reality TV star added, “We agreed when they were both i would get all of our kids names and trademarks So no one else would take them.”
The rapper replied, “Amend it or I’m going to war And neither of us will recover from the public fallout You’re going to have to kill me.”
In February, West made a public plea to President Trump calling for the release of his “brother Puff.”
